Maria Aurora (Rory) Tolentino, based in the Phillipines, is an independent consultant providing training, technical assistance and expert advice to non- profit organizations in the Philippines, the US and in Asia on a broad range of issues and activities. She served for six years as Chief Executive of the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium, a network dedicated to improving the flow and effectiveness of philanthropy in Asia.
Until 1998, Ms. Tolentino was the executive director of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), the country's largest grantmaking and project-implementing foundation supported by contributions from 172 member corporations. Ms. Tolentino has been involved with PBSP since its launch in 1970. During her tenure there, PBSP received the 1992 Award for Excellence in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management (February 1993).
She received her B.A. from Maryknoll College in the Phillipines and her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University.
