Silvia Morais is Country Director, Brazil at Synergos. She holds more than 20 years of experience in the third sector, working with strategy, innovation and multi-stakeholder partnerships in Brazil and Latin America. Over the past four years, Silvia has worked as a consultant for foundations, corporate institutes, nonprofits, and governments. Amongst the highlights of her career are partnerships with the Brazilian Ministries of Social Security, Education, and Citizenship. These partnerships were key to the development and scale social of educational technologies that are now public policies reaching thousands of students, female beneficiaries of Bolsa Família, and Retirees.
Silvia was CEO of Instituto Credit Suisse and of the Brazilian Financial Education Association. There, she worked in the undertaking of two important organizations in the promotion of integral education in the regions of São Paulo, in addition to promoting financial inclusion and financial literacy of Brazilians.
She has also worked at companies such as Natura and HSBC Bank, as well as for IDIS (Development of Social Investment Institute). Academically, she was a professor of Nonprofit Management and Corporate Social Responsibility at Centro Universitário SENAC. She has been a board member for GIFE and RedEAmerica, two of the main associations of grantmakers in Latin America. Today, she is a member of the board of the Amor Horizontal Foundation.
Silvia holds a degree in Public Relations, a Master Science in Management and Innovation, and a Postgraduate degree in Nonprofit Management at Universidad San Pablo de Madrid on a scholarship from Carolina Foundation. She also received certification in Collaborative Process with Humberto Maturana from Escuela Matriztica in Chile.
Silvia is married, lives in the city of São Paulo, and is a volunteer advocate for the rights of Brazilian civil society.
