This presentation illustrates how Child Rights and You (CRY) strategized to move from a grant-making organization to building a community movement. CRY's role is to not only serve as the voice of children but to also be an "incubator of initiatives" focused on buildings community movements. This transition raised issues and challenges especially from the donors who prefer to be part of a charity rather than a social transformation. But a 25th anniversary provided the opportunity to reflect and re-visit CRY's strategy with partners and CRY decided to launch a campaign for upcoming national parliamentary elections. Partaking in the election campaign helped the organization make the transition to advocacy while generating inter-departmental collaboration and cohesiveness.
