Tamer Taha is the founder and chief-executive of Yomken (“It’s Possible” in Arabic), an online platform that crowd sources business solutions and start up funding for Egyptian entrepreneurs .Yomken helps Egyptian business through a two stage process. First, the entrepreneur and Yomken identify any obstacles that may obstruct the businesses future success. These issues, once identified, are then posted on Yomken, where a larger audience can help provide a myriad of solutions.
A group of volunteer experts vets the propositions and chooses the best one. Once the solution is implemented, Yomken moves on to the second stage, where entrepreneurs can make a pitch for crowd sourced funding.
Tamer created Yomken because he recognized the significant difficulty small to medium-sized businesses have trying to secure loans. He ensures that all contributors to Yomken, including funders and innovators can track the progress on funding, in addition to the social impact the businesses are making including employees hired, and income gained.
