Leonardo Letelier is the founder and CEO of SITAWI-Finance for Good (www.sitawi.net), a non-profit organization that develops financial solutions for the social sector in Brazil. This he does by pioneering social finance, impact investment and philanthropy, and works with donors, impact businesses and investors in Brazil.
He founded SITAWI in order to reduce economic inequities in Brazil by increasing the capital available to for-and non-profit social enterprises, and democratizing access to impact investment in Brazil. SITAWI multiplies the capital available for expansion of positive social/environmental impact projects.
SITAWI activities are divided into four pillars: impact investment - connecting NGOs, associations and impact businesses with investors (from retail to UHNW); philanthropic fund management for families, corporate donors and collective initiatives (a mix of a donor-advised fund and fiscal sponsorship services); implementation of territorial development programs in the Amazon; and endowment management.
Since 2007, SITAWI has impacted the lives of nearly 4 million people by supporting over 1,600 organizations and initiatives focused on income generation, healthcare, education and other sectors.
Leonardo was born in Chile and lived most of his life in Brazil. He has an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of São Paulo and received his masters of business administration from Harvard Business School.
