Kgotso Schoeman is the CEO of Kagiso Capital and former CEO of Kagiso Trust, a non-partisan organization that addresses development and poverty alleviation in South Africa which seeks to improve the quality of life of the poor and marginalized. Kagiso Capital invest in, or take equity positions in operating companies as a strategy geared at growing the investment assets of the Kagiso Trust to ensure sustainable dividends income to support the development programmes of the Trust. They target and invest in the ideas of entrepreneurs who operate in the education and health sectors.

Mr. Schoeman is a well-known community development activist and continues to play an active role in his hometown of Alexandra Township in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was part of the team that planned and implemented a successful fund-raising campaign which resulted in partnerships between national, international donor agencies and the local private sector. The funds raised were used to develop and build a multi-purpose community facility, which is today an integral part of the overall development of Alexandra. Mr. Schoeman has worked as a trainer in the NGO and CBO sectors for many years in areas such as proposal writing, managing community-based organizations and addressing conflict in communities.
