Ahmed Tarek is a Synergos social entrepreneur in Egypt who is using education and training to help teens start their own social and business initiatives.
His nonprofit startup, INTApreneur, aims to close the gap in business knowledge among Egyptian youth by widening their access to the best information, trainings, and support networks. INTApreneur runs an educational program and platform that inspires, educates, and empowers teens to build their own enterprises by giving them the foundational business skills, and offering continued support as their ventures progress. The organization also seeks to foster an entrepreneurial culture and supportive community that supports the growth of young entrepreneurs. It offers aspiring entrepreneurs a 2- to 3-month guided project that inculcates proven techniques for building a great startup, culminating in a business fair competition where participants present their projects to one another.
Based in Alexandria, Ahmed and a group of volunteers started preparing the content by gathering statistics and translating documents to serve as base for their start-up accelerator program. In 2016, INTApreneur renewed its partnership with the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST).
In the Summer of 2015, INTApreneur launched the partnership and its first round of the program at AAST’s Entrepreneur’s Center, based on their Alexandria campus. Through Synergos’ Pioneers of Egypt program, Ahmed and volunteers were able to develop the training content and a database of start-ups working all over Egypt.
