Nili Gilbert, CFA, is Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager of Matarin Capital Management. Her primary responsibilities include investment model development, portfolio construction and management of Matarin’s suite of investment products. She holds an AB from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude in a Special Concentration in Economics and Social Studies, and received her MBA in Finance and Economics from Columbia University.
Prior to joining Matarin, Nili worked at Invesco as a Senior Director and Research Analyst in the Quantitative Strategies Group and was responsible for development of the firm’s global multi-asset models. While attending graduate school Nili worked in Institutional Equities at Morgan Stanley and focused on derivatives trading. Prior to graduate school, Nili began her career as an Institutional Development Associate at Synergos. Nili’s early experiences working in fundraising at Synergos led her to find her passion in translating between the “values”-based conversations of social change and the "value"-based conversations of capital allocation. Nili is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Columbia Business School’s Social Enterprise Alumni Association, and of the Toigo Foundation, an organization which promotes diversity in financial services.
