Désirée Younge
Désirée Younge joined Synergos in June 2008, as a Senior Manager as part of the Global Philanthropists Circle team. Her work focuses on supporting Global Philanthropists Circle members concerned with poverty alleviation, social justice, and inequality in Africa.
Desiree has had extensive experience working to guide and connect both donors and nonprofit organizations in various capacities. For the past six years, she was with the Robin Hood Foundation, where as a Senior Program Officer her grantmaking experience covered issues including HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, homelessness, health, and food security. She also provided technical assistance on management, operations, and program development to a wide range of nonprofit organizations in New York and abroad. Desiree holds a BA in Business from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, and an MA in International Affairs, with a concentration in Socioeconomic Development, from the New School University. She is a national of Sierra Leone and a world traveler.
